While the value of rehab is undeniable, many people have concerns about the cost of these programs. However, for many individuals in recovery, insurance will cover the cost of their treatment. Insurance Covers Drug & Alcohol Rehab
To receive insurance, you need to sign up for a healthcare plan and pay monthly premiums. To buy an insurance plan, you can go to any federal businesses or any insurance companies directly during the allotted open enrollment period. There are different insurance agents or providers that are available near you according to your residence.
Most of the plans various insurance companies provide have deductibles or amounts that a person must reach before insurance coverage kicks in. The insurance company will then pay you a percentage of the services rendered. For example, if someone has a deductible of $1000 and insurance pays out 80% over that, after $1000 is paid out of pocket for medical expenses, the insurance company pays 80% of the amount and rest 20% is paid by you. This is known as “coinsurance.”
Policies will also have an annual out-of-pocket limit, or maximum. After this maximum, the insurer will pay 100% of all covered medical costs. At the time that services are provided to you, you may also have to pay a “co-pay,” which is separate from the deductible amount and are generally low in dollars.
